President Left Behind
Christian
leader gives Bush failing grade. “Well, it's hard to
assess blame, but I, over the years — I hate to be critical,
I mean I am a Republican, and this is the president of the
party that I'm a member of — but I think we've had some
serious goofs along the way,” stated Pat Robertson in
a CNN interview on the Situation Room Tuesday.
“The Katrina matter was
terrible. The rebuilding of Iraq has been terrible. The [handling]
of the economy right now has been terrible. It hasn't been
handled in what I would consider a professional manner.”
stated Rev. Pat Robertson.

Dalton, Georgia is a community rich in history,
natural beauty and small-town charm. Nestled in the foothills
of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest Georgia, Dalton blends
a wealth of outdoor recreation activities, Native-american
and Civil War history and a metropolitan sophistication along
a revitalized downtown mainstreet.
In Dalton, there is something to fit everyone's
interest, whether it is shopping at boutiques or outlets,
exploring the historic sites, or enjoying casual or fine dining
at its best. Special events such as the Battle of Resaca or
Tunnel Hill, the classic Car Cruise-In, Prater's Mill Country
Fair or the holiday parade, blend everything good about Dalton
and keep people coming back for more.
How does a city keep its small town charm, yet
progressively move into the 21st century? Without all of the
details, it can be summarized by saying that it's the people
who make the difference. Dalton was incorporated in 1847 by
businessmen from the North and that same entrepreneurial spirit
has kept the city thriving through historic ups and downs,
such as the Civil War and the Great Depression.
A main street since 1985, Downtown Dalton features
a number of specialty shops, as well as Dalton Green Park,
Gateway Park, the historic Wink Theatre, and the only outdoor
statue of Confederate General Joseph Johnston. The streetscape
gives downtown a welcomed facelift, lifting the spirits of
its citizens and visitors alike. New shops and restaurants
are popping up like new growth in the spring. Visitors have
always enjoyed dining at the histoic Dalton Depot & Trackside
Cafe' Restaurant, a stabilizing anchor to downtown for several
years, but now there is even more to see and do.
Visitors to downtown Dalton will want to stroll
along Hamilton St. and up the side streets to experience an
eclectic blend of shops with something for everyone's taste.
Local entrepreneurs have made a commitment to the downtown
revitalization providing delightful restaurants and retail
shops, each carving out their own niche, offering a little
something different from his neighbor.
Events such as the Classic Car Cruise-In, the
Dalton Bike Fest, the Downtown Dalton Christmas Open-House
and Downtown Lighted Christmas Parade provide seasonal excitment
in this vibrant and growing community.
